Mercedes-Benz is ushering in a new era in the luxury van segment with the VLE, expanding its fully electrified lineup. Built on the new Van Architecture platform, this model creates a unique class by combining limousine comfort with MPV spaciousness and versatility. The entry-level VLE 300 boasts a 203 kW electric motor, while the top-of-the-range VLE 400 4MATIC offers even greater performance, accelerating from 0-100 km/h in approximately 6,5 seconds.
The vehicle's carrying capacity is reflected in its modular interior design; with the new generation 115 kWh NMC battery, the range can exceed 700 kilometers according to WLTP data. Thanks to the 800-volt fast charging architecture, it is possible to add approximately 355 kilometers of range with just 15 minutes of charging. Inside, the new AIRMATIC air suspension is at the heart of comfort, optimizing road holding and driving feel by adjusting the body height by up to 40 mm.
The rear axle steering system opens up to 7 degrees, reducing the turning radius to approximately 10,9 meters, making city maneuvering easier. The electric motor system offers efficiency up to 93%, and in all-wheel-drive versions, the rear motor only engages when needed, resulting in both fuel savings and improved traction.
The VLE can carry 5 to 8 passengers with its three-row seating configuration, and offers various rear seating options including the Manual Comfort Seat, the electric Premium Comfort Seat, and the Grand Comfort Seat with features such as massage and wireless charging. Thanks to the roll & go system, the seats can be easily moved forward and backward, locked, or completely removed. In versions with electric seats, these adjustments can be made remotely via the in-vehicle screen or mobile application, supporting different usage scenarios with automatic seat arrangements.
The luggage capacity is approximately 795 liters with three rows of seats, increasing to over 4.000 liters when the seats are removed. Inside, the MB.OS operating system offers an AI-powered ecosystem, allowing you to manage multimedia, driving assistance systems, and vehicle functions from a single central point. The optional MBUX Superscreen promises a multi-screen experience for the driver and passengers: a 10,25-inch driver screen, a 14-inch central screen, and a 14-inch passenger screen, making content accessible to the passenger as well. In the rear, there is a 31,3-inch 8K panoramic screen that opens from the roof; this screen can be used for applications such as cinema, games, or video conferencing. The audio experience is enhanced by the Burmester-branded 22-speaker Dolby Atmos sound system, which is compatible with the 8K panoramic screen.
The next-generation MB.OS architecture integrates AI support based on ChatGPT, Microsoft Bing, and Google Gemini. The virtual assistant can understand natural language and learn driver habits to offer personalized suggestions. The navigation system is optimized to calculate the fastest route and charging stops using Google Maps.
Mercedes-Benz has designed the VLE to adapt to different usage scenarios: as a spacious travel vehicle for families, an equipment-carrying vehicle for adventurous users, or a luxury shuttle for VIP transport. Additional features include electrically sliding doors, a hands-free access system, and individually opening rear windows to facilitate daily use. Furthermore, the vehicle's 2,5-ton towing capacity makes it possible to tow heavy loads such as caravans, boats, or horse trailers.
