The Grande Panda, the first representative of FIAT's new global product range, has achieved another significant international success. Combining iconic Italian design with modern technologies and supporting its accessible electrification strategy with hybrid and fully electric engine options, the model has become a finalist in the AUTOBEST 2026 “Europe’s Best Car” competition, which is based on criteria such as design, technology, price-performance balance, and ease of use. This year, for the first time, the competition will be conducted through public voting, allowing users to participate in the decision-making process. The voting, reflecting the preferences of car users in Europe, is important in revealing market expectations among the finalist models. Voting will continue until March 28th. https://autobest.org Participation is possible via this address. The winning model will be announced at the AUTOBEST Conquest Show, which will be held on the same date.
Designed at the FIAT Centro Stile in Turin, the Fiat Grande Panda references the brand's roots with strong shoulder lines inspired by the Panda model of the 80s, 3D “PANDA” and “FIAT” lettering, and a Pixel LED lighting signature. Its compact length of 3,99 meters provides a significant advantage for city driving. Offering a spacious interior for five people, the model provides above-average boot capacity in its segment with 361 liters in the electric version and 412 liters in the hybrid version. The 60/40 split-folding rear seats and a total of 13 liters of storage space make daily use easier. A 10-inch digital instrument panel and a 10,25-inch touchscreen multimedia display are standard. Active safety systems under ADAS include driving assistance systems such as Lane Keeping Assist, Active Safety Braking, Cruise Control, and Driver Fatigue Warning.
Launched in Türkiye last year with both electric and hybrid engine options, the Grande Panda continues to win over consumers. The Grande Panda reflects the brand's vision of accessible electrification with both hybrid and fully electric engine options. The hybrid version features a 1.2-liter turbocharged, 3-cylinder gasoline engine producing 100 HP, paired with a 48-volt lithium-ion battery and a 21 kW electric motor.
Combined with a 6-speed dual-clutch eDCT automatic transmission, the system provides electric assistance, especially during acceleration and at low speeds, offering a smoother, quieter, and more efficient driving experience. Thanks to its e-launch, e-creeping, and e-queueing functions, the Grande Panda can operate in fully electric mode under certain conditions, providing low fuel consumption and high comfort in city traffic. Energy recovered during braking also supports the battery, further increasing efficiency.
The fully electric version, with its 83 kW (113 HP) electric motor, offers zero-emission driving, specifically targeting urban mobility. Thanks to its 44 kWh battery, it offers a range of approximately 320 kilometers according to WLTP standards, and the electric motor's instantaneous torque provides a responsive and quiet driving experience. With fast charging support, the Grande Panda Electric can reach 80% charge from 20% in approximately 27 minutes at DC charging stations, and a full charge in about 4 hours and 20 minutes with AC charging. These features offer a practical and efficient solution for daily use needs.
