Subaru's Electric Revolution: Trailseeker Hits the Road

Subaru is opening a new chapter in the automotive world by producing its first mass-produced electric vehicle at its Gunma Yajima factory in Japan. trailseekerProduction has officially begun. Following extensive renovation work that started in August 2025 and is expected to be completed in January 2026, the facility is now ready to roll the technology of the future off the assembly line.

Flexible Manufacturing and Hybrid Architecture

The most striking innovation at the factory was the “hybrid conveyor system.” Thanks to this advanced technology, electric (BEV), gasoline, and hybrid models can be produced simultaneously on the same line. This flexibility offers Subaru a strategic advantage, enabling it to respond quickly to changing market demands.

A Strong Partnership with Toyota

The Trailseeker crossover, the fruit of a 20-year technical collaboration with Toyota, combines the engineering expertise of both giants. This partnership, encompassing supply chain and development processes, accelerates Subaru's expansion of its electric portfolio. As the first globally produced electric model manufactured in-house, the Trailseeker takes its place in the brand's electrification history.
