Otokar, a Koç Group company, maintained its top position in the Turkish bus market for the 17th time in 2025. According to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), one out of every three buses sold in Türkiye is an Otokar brand, while the company continued to grow in Europe with its investments in alternative fuel vehicles and global strategic partnerships.
Otokar, a leading name in the automotive sector in Türkiye for over 60 years, secured its leadership position in the Turkish bus market for the 17th time in 2025, while strengthening its global position in Europe with autonomous technology and strategic production collaborations. With its wide product range extending from 6 meters to 21 meters, alternative fuel technologies, and strong R&D infrastructure, the company continues to play a pioneering role in the sustainable transportation transformation.
STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP IN GLOBAL PRODUCTION POWER
Otokar signed a strategic production agreement with Daimler Buses, one of Europe's leading bus manufacturers, in 2025. Under the agreement, Mercedes-Benz Conecto model buses will begin production at Otokar's Sakarya factory. With this collaboration, Otokar strengthens its position in the global automotive value chain by becoming a manufacturer for two more of Europe's five largest bus producers, including itself.
IT CONTINUES ITS EXPANSION IN EUROPE.
Otokar, which carries Turkish engineering to the world with its exports from Sakarya to more than 60 countries, continued to expand its global footprint in 2025. While maintaining its position in key markets such as France, Italy, and Germany, it entered new markets with its first export to Sweden and the right-hand drive buses that entered service on the island of Jersey. Winning the “Ecology Award” with its e-Territo model at the Busworld Awards, the company registered its competence in environmentally friendly transportation solutions with international authorities. Otokar continued its successful performance in low and zero-emission vehicles with nearly 60 alternative fuel buses that entered service in Italy and the first sale of the e-Territo in France.
TURKISH ENGINEERING LEAVES ITS MARK ON AUTONOMOUS TECHNOLOGY.
Otokar, taking autonomous driving capabilities to the next level, achieved a first in Europe with its Autonomous e-Centro, developed entirely with its own engineering and software resources. The vehicle, subjected to over 600 tests in 148 different scenarios over 30 days by TÜV Rheinland in Hungary, successfully completed this comprehensive process, becoming the first Turkish autonomous vehicle to do so. Following this test success, the Autonomous e-Centro began transporting passengers in the Mercamadrid smart urban area in Madrid, Spain, symbolizing Otokar's ambitious position in next-generation mobility solutions.
"WE ARE TRANSFORMING OUR ENGINEERING EXPERTISE INTO GLOBAL SUCCESS."
An assessment of the company's performance in 2025 Kerem Erman, Deputy General Manager of Otokar Commercial Vehicles“Our uninterrupted leadership for 17 years is the most concrete indicator of the trust our customers place in Otokar. Our long-standing leadership always places a responsibility on us to do better and motivates us. In 2025, when the Turkish bus market showed growth, growth occurred especially in the municipal/public bus segment due to the increasing need in public transportation. As Otokar, in addition to making significant deliveries in this area, we also reinforced our long-standing sales success in the tourism and service sectors with our Sultan vehicle,” he said.
Referring to the strategic production collaboration with Daimler Buses Erman"The fact that we will be producing for two more of Europe's largest bus manufacturers, including Otokar, shows that our engineering expertise and production quality are recognized worldwide," he stated.
Also evaluating investments in autonomous technology and sustainability. Kerem Erman He stated: “Our autonomous e-Centro project proves the level that Turkish engineering has reached in technology exports. It is a great source of pride for us that it is the first Turkish autonomous vehicle to be tested by TÜV Rheinland and subsequently put into use in public transport in Spain. This vehicle is not just a bus; it is a symbol of Türkiye's emergence onto the global stage in software and autonomous technologies. As an active part of the Koç Holding Carbon Transition Program, which aims to be carbon neutral by 2050, we continue to expand our portfolio of electric and alternative fuel vehicles. The Busworld Ecology Award we won with e-Territo is a reflection of our commitment in this area. In 2026, we will strengthen our pioneering role in sustainable mobility by expanding our presence in Europe with our new generation electric vehicle family.”

Otokar, which increased its product range last year thanks to its R&D and engineering strength, increased its sales in the 7-15 ton segment of the light truck market by 21 percent in terms of units compared to 2024. The company, the only light truck manufacturer that can officially export to Europe with its own sales network, continued its export activities with its distributors abroad. Entering the pick-up market in the last quarter of 2024 with the Foton Tunland model, Otokar demonstrated a successful performance in this segment in 2025.
