ADAC Announces the Most Fuel-Efficient Electric Vehicles

The German automobile club ADAC has announced the models with the lowest energy consumption in real-world conditions, based on its Ecotest database updated as of January 27, 2026. The test results once again proved that there are significant differences between the WLTP values declared by manufacturers and real-world usage. For example, the Tesla Model 3, which appears very efficient on paper, only managed to rank 21st on the list with a consumption of 17,2 kWh.

Top Savings Champions

Leading the list is the Mercedes-Benz CLA 250+ EQ Progressive with an impressive fuel consumption of 13,4 kWh. It is followed by the Mini Aceman SE and Hyundai Ioniq 6, both at 15,5 kWh, completing the podium. The Hyundai Inster in fourth place and the Fiat 500e in fifth place continue to assert their dominance in urban fuel efficiency with 15,9 kWh.

Performance of European-Made Models

Among the French representatives, the Peugeot e-208 came in sixth with a consumption of 16,0 kWh, while the e-308 model took seventh place. According to ADAC experts, these models stand out as the most economical electric cars in the European market today, given the high energy costs.
