Tesla has launched its new Model 3 and Model Y versions, specifically designed for the European market and attracting attention with their aggressive pricing strategy. This move aims to increase competitiveness and regain market share amidst significant sales declines in the region. By lowering prices and eliminating some high-end options, the automaker aims to reach a wider customer base.

The data reveals significant declines in Tesla's sales performance in Europe. Registration figures in November were down 12.3% compared to the same month the previous year. Excluding Norway, sales across Europe have fallen by over 36% following the end of government incentives. To counter this negative trend, the company believes that pricing reductions will have a greater impact than the removal of certain features and is adjusting its strategy accordingly.

New Model 3 Standard and Price Advantages

The new entry-level version of the Model 3 is available at a very attractive price in major markets such as Germany, France and Italy, 36.990 € This price, at just under €37.000, offers a significant psychological advantage, giving the Model 3 a competitive advantage by outperforming conventional gasoline vehicles in the price range. However, this version doesn't compromise on its strong performance and range:

  • Range: According to WLTP standards, 534 km of reach is provided.
  • Acceleration: It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately 6.2 seconds.

To achieve this price advantage, Tesla has cut back on some luxury and higher-end features. The vegan leather upholstery in the Premium and Long Range versions has been replaced with more affordable, textile-blend seats. The rear seats and audio system have also been significantly simplified. The most notable exterior feature is the change from alloy wheels to steel.

The high-performance Model Y has also adjusted its pricing in Europe according to the new conditions, 39.990 € It's now available. Maintaining the same range advantage, the Model Y appears to have a more advantageous position than the sedan, particularly with its new features and pricing. However, due to the loss of features, the appeal of this more affordable and under-equipped SUV varies.
