The First 10 Months of 2025 in the Turkish Automotive Sector

The Automotive Manufacturers Association (AİB) announced its data for the first 10 months of 2025. Total production increased by 4 percent compared to the same period last year, reaching 1,163,425 units.

The official statement made by the Automotive Manufacturers Association included the following: “The Automotive Manufacturers Association (OSD) announced production and export figures and market data for the January-October period of 2025. Accordingly, in the first 10 months of the year, total automotive production increased by 4 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and reached 1,163,425 units. Car production decreased by 3 percent to 717,321 units. Total production, including tractor production, reached 1,187,015 units. In the first 10 months of the year, production in the commercial vehicle group increased by 17 percent and in the light commercial vehicle group by 20 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, while it decreased by 2 percent in the heavy commercial vehicle group. During this period, the capacity utilization rate of the automotive industry was 66 percent. Capacity utilization rates on a vehicle group basis were 67 percent for light vehicles (cars + light commercial vehicles), 56 percent for trucks, 66 percent for buses and midibuses, and 50 percent for tractors. It was realized at level 38.

In the first 10 months of the year, automotive exports increased by 5 percent in terms of units compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 864,809 units. During this period, automobile exports decreased by 9 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, while commercial vehicle exports increased by 29 percent. Tractor exports also decreased by 21 percent compared to the same period of 2024, reaching 9,340 units. According to data from the Turkish Exporters' Assembly, total automotive industry exports reached $34 billion in the first 10 months of 2025, maintaining its leadership in the sectoral export ranking with a 17,5 percent share. According to data from the Uludağ Exporters' Association (UIB), total automotive exports reached $33,5 billion in the first 10 months. During the same period, automobile exports increased by 6 percent to $9,6 billion. During this period, main industry exports increased by 14 percent in dollar terms, and supplier industry exports increased by 6 percent.

In the first 10 months of 2025, the total market increased by 10 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 1,078,527 units. During this period, the automobile market also increased by 11 percent, reaching 833,382 units. Looking at the commercial vehicle market, in the first 10 months of the year, the total commercial vehicle market grew by 5 percent and the light commercial vehicle market grew by 7 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, while the heavy commercial vehicle market decreased by 6 percent. In the January-October period of 2025, the share of domestic vehicles in automobile sales was 30 percent, and the share of domestic vehicles in the light commercial vehicle market was 21 percent.
