Donut Ingredients
- 2 pieces of eggs
- 100 g sugar
- 100 ml sour cream
- 350 g flour
- 2 1/2 tablespoons baking powder
- 1 tablespoon baking soda
- 1/2 tablespoon cinnamon
- Plenty of oil
- 4 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon (for topping)
How to Make a Donut?
- Whisk the eggs and sugar until frothy, then add the sour cream and mix.
- Add the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and cinnamon and knead until well combined.
- If you get a very runny dough, add a little more flour and continue kneading.
- On a floured surface, knead the dough until it is well combined and homogeneous, then roll it out to a thickness of 5–10 mm (about half a centimeter to one centimeter).
- Cut out circles from the dough using a cake tin of your desired size, then use a much smaller cutter (or a soda bottle cap) to make a hole in the center of each circle.
- After cutting all the dough into rings, fry them in hot oil in a deep pan until golden brown on both sides (~2 minutes).
- Remove the browned pastries to a paper towel and let them drain until the excess oil is absorbed.
- Then coat them in sugar (or your desired topping) and serve while still slightly warm.
- My doughnuts rose beautifully because I added some Instant Yeast (which I used beforehand) to the dough! I think yours will rise nicely even if you don't add it.
- Bon Appetit.
