Castrol's "Catch the Future Revolution" Research
Castrol Türkiye's research titled "Catch the Revolution of the Future", which includes Türkiye, reveals that interest in electric vehicles is increasing, but there are still deficiencies in infrastructure, technology and service levels. The results of the research were announced to the public at a press conference held in Istanbul.
General Manager of Castrol Türkiye, Ukraine and Central Asia Nilay Tatlisoz, stated that the research does not only consist of numbers, but also reflects a multidimensional transformation process. Tatlısöz said, “The transition to electrification is much more than a technological renewal. Consumers are ready for this transition, but the infrastructure is not at a sufficient level everywhere.”
While the rate of those who were positive about electric or hybrid vehicles was 2021% in 47, it is predicted that this rate could increase to 2025% by 56. In addition, 95% of current electric vehicle users state that they will prefer their next vehicle to be electric.
The research also revealed the critical role of hybrid vehicles in the transition process. While the market share of hybrid vehicles was 2021% in 8,4, this rate is expected to reach 2024% in 18,8 and 2025% in the first 5 months of 28. Tatlısöz emphasized that hybrid vehicles offer a solution to charging and range concerns.
Charging time, range and infrastructure access are among the biggest concerns of consumers regarding electric vehicles. While interest in the second-hand electric vehicle market is also increasing, factors such as battery life and warranty conditions are among the important elements affecting consumers' decision-making processes.
Emphasizing the importance of data-based strategies, Tatlısöz added that this research serves as a guide for all stakeholders who shape the sector.
