Clean Energy Worth 1400 Trees with Electric Vehicle Charging Stations

Electric Vehicle Charging Station Project from Narlıdere Municipality

Narlidere Municipality, has managed to prevent approximately 28 tons of carbon emissions since the beginning of the year through the charging stations it has set up for electric vehicles. This figure is equivalent to the carbon emissions that 1400 trees can clean in a year. Narlıdere Mayor Erman Uzun“We will continue to be a breath of fresh air for our nature, protecting the health of our neighbors, improving their quality of life and aiming for a cleaner, more sustainable Narlıdere,” he said.

Narlıdere Municipality makes significant contributions to the environment with its electric vehicle charging stations, which it has implemented in order to encourage nature-friendly transportation, reduce carbon emissions in the district and support sustainable living. Since January 1, 2023, the stations, which have provided charging services in three different locations a total of 1258 times, have transferred 31.608 kWh of electrical energy so far. In this way, approximately 186 thousand kilometers of emission-free travel has been covered with electric vehicles. According to the calculations, a total of 28 tons of carbon emissions were prevented thanks to the drivers who charged their vehicles through Narlıdere Municipality's charging stations. This rate provided a contribution equivalent to the amount of carbon that 1400 trees could clean in a year.

We Are Preparing Narlıdere for the Future

Stating that they aim to further expand the electric vehicle charging station infrastructure in line with the demands from the citizens as Narlıdere Municipality, Mayor Erman Uzun said, “As in the whole world, interest in electric vehicles is rapidly increasing in our country. While the number of electric vehicles increases every day, we are taking the necessary steps and preparing our district for the future with the goal of ‘clean, green and silent Narlıdere’. We plan to increase our electric vehicle charging stations, which currently serve at three points, according to demand.”

We Will Continue to Breathe into Our Nature

Mayor Erman Uzun, stating that he also uses an electric vehicle, said, “We should not forget that reducing our carbon footprint will make positive contributions to our environment, health and economy. As Narlıdere Municipality, we act with this awareness. In the upcoming period, we aim to further expand the vehicle charging station infrastructure, increase efficiency with smart energy systems and spread our environmentally friendly practices throughout the city. We will continue to be a breath of fresh air for our nature with the goal of protecting the health of our neighbors, increasing the quality of life and a cleaner Narlıdere.”

Serves in Three Different Locations

The electric vehicle charging stations that Narlıdere Municipality will put into service at the end of 2024 are located in three different locations:

  • Narlidere Ataturk Cultural Center
  • Next to Limanreis Neighborhood Headman's Office
  • Yenikale District Celtek Street

These stations can be used via an application downloaded to smartphones. Citizens who charge their vehicles can check their charging status via the application.
