Batı Yıldırım Shines in Porsche Carrera Cup Italy Series
National athlete Batı Ege Yıldırım intimidated his rivals by showing a better performance than expected in his first race in the Porsche Carrera Cup Italy Series, where he will compete in the 2025 season.
Our national athlete Batı Yıldırım, who is only 16 years old, showed a remarkable performance in the first leg of the Porsche Carrera Cup Italy Series, one of the most prestigious automobile races in Europe, held last weekend. Batı, who set out with only 34 training sessions in this season where 5 cars competed, gave signals that he will quickly and successfully complete the transition from karting to automobiles.
Starting his first official car race in 29th place in the qualifying rounds, Batı achieved 29th place in the first race and 23rd place in the second race. These results show that Batı performed much better than expected in an environment where his competitors had at least two seasons of car track experience. Our young representative's successful start in the first race, which was run at night, was chosen as the "best start of the weekend" in a vote by the Porsche Junior Academy pilots.
The Porsche Carrera Cup Italy is a challenging series consisting of 6 legs and a total of 12 races. After the first leg in Misano, the next races will continue at the Vallelunga, Mugello, Imola, Misano and Monza circuits.
