Embracing the “Rainbow Nation” that encompasses elements such as equality, justice and diversity in Africa, JAECOO 7 PHEV successfully completed its long-range test in South Africa with the participation of NAAMSA CEO Mike, South Africa Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (DTIC) Deputy Director General Yunus Hoosen and members of the press from six countries. The vehicle, which exhibits a performance equivalent to a 3.0T engine, reached a total range of 228 kilometers, a 102 percent all-electric driving range ratio and a fuel consumption value of 1,2 liters per 100 kilometers with a fuel consumption value of 4,8 liters lower than expected. Leading its class in every respect, JAECOO 7 PHEV fully demonstrated its driving ability as a true “Super Hybrid”.
The JAECOO 7 PHEV set off from Cape Town, a city that blends European charm with multiculturalism, and encountered diverse road conditions such as the mountains, hills and highways of South Africa. Throughout the journey, the convoy passed over cliff edges and the iconic Chapman’s Peak road, where emerald waves crashed against the rocks, while the misty water vapor from the storm further wetted the already slippery red soil, making the already difficult road even more challenging.
However, equipped with the fifth generation 1.5 TGDI Hybrid Dedicated Engine (DHE) and Hybrid Dedicated Transmission (DHT), JAECOO 7 PHEV easily moved on steep, rainy and off-road roads. In addition, with its 255 kW power and 525 Nm maximum torque engine, JAECOO 7 PHEV provided a pleasant, comfortable and efficient driving experience on the winding roads in the forest area of Tsitsikamma National Park with its fast, sensitive response to the throttle command and cornering performance. JAECOO 7 PHEV fully demonstrated the power of the world's best NEV solution. During this journey, JAECOO 7 PHEV achieved a very successful range of 228 kilometers on one tank of fuel and demonstrated its power as the "King of Endurance".
The JAECOO 7 PHEV fleet has completed this long-range test covering the diverse landscapes of South Africa with an excellent result, accompanied by elephant herds and various wildlife in Addo Park. This event once again proves that the JAECOO 7 PHEV is the world’s best new NEV solution in terms of performance, total range, fuel efficiency, and the smoothness and quietness of all-electric driving. The JAECOO 7 PHEV long-range test drive has now covered more than ten countries and regions across three continents (Europe, Asia, and Africa), continuously pushing new boundaries in driving performance. However, the JAECOO 7 PHEV’s journey does not end here. A new era of challenges begins in the dynamic and innovative Americas. Here, the JAECOO 7 PHEV will continue to face unknown challenges and deliver a higher quality transportation experience to users worldwide.
