Strong Performance and Innovative Products from Otokar
Otokar draws attention with its range of buses ranging from 6 meters to 21 meters, as well as its environmentally friendly and alternative fuel vehicles. The company continues to offer a wide range of products by taking important steps in autonomous vehicles. According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) data, one out of every three buses sold in Turkey belongs to the Otokar brand. This success has allowed Otokar to reach fourth place among Europe's leading companies in bus production.
Having rolled off the assembly line of the 2024th Sultan bus and 30.000th Atlas truck at its Sakarya production facilities in 5.000, Otokar has maintained its title as Turkey’s most preferred small bus brand for many years. Sultan, in particular, continues to be the primary choice in tourism and service transportation.
Having gained a strong position in the light truck segment with its 11 and 15-ton Atlas trucks, Otokar became the light truck brand that showed the highest sales increase last year. In addition, it added its electric light truck e-Atlas, which stands out with its zero-emission and silent driving features, to its product portfolio and realized the first electric light truck sale in Turkey. The company developed the new version of its electric city bus e-Kent and made the first introduction of the vehicle in Belgium. Contributing to the transformation process in Europe, it realized significant electric bus deliveries, primarily to Italy in 2024.
Exports Continue to Gain Speed
Otokar Commercial Vehicles Leader Kerem Erman, who made statements, stated that the market leadership they have maintained for 16 years is a great source of pride for them. Erman said, “Thanks to our wide product range and the solutions we offer, we manage to reach more users every year. I would like to thank all our employees, business partners and customers who trust us for their efforts in this success.”
Emphasizing that Sultan is by far the best-selling vehicle in the market, Erman added, “We aim to introduce the new generation Sultan vehicle with electronic infrastructure and GSR to the market in 2025.”
Noting that Otokar continues its success in the domestic market in its target market, Europe, Erman said: “While we are reinforcing our leadership in Turkey, we are not slowing down in exports to increase the added value we offer to our country. Following our subsidiaries in France, Romania and Italy, we have strengthened our presence in Europe by opening our Germany branch. In 2024, we managed to increase European bus sales by 20 percent in terms of units compared to the previous year. We have delivered over 1.000 buses in countries such as Italy, Spain and France.”
