Chinese off-road SUV brand JAECOO is drawing attention with its new plug-in hybrid vehicle JAECOO 7 PHEV. The vehicle offers high efficiency, performance and ultra-long range thanks to its Super Hybrid System (SHS). Zhang Zhifu, CTO and Co-Creation Officer of JAECOO 7 PHEV's product technology, detailed the technology behind the vehicle's extraordinary driving experience.
The SHS includes three core components: the fifth generation 1.5 TGDI DHE engine, the Hybrid Specific Transmission (DHT) and the high-performance battery pack dedicated to hybrid vehicles. These innovative technologies reinforce JAECOO’s leadership in the global market while also contributing to meeting the environmentally friendly mobility needs of Turkish consumers.
The JAECOO 7 PHEV's fifth-generation 1.5 TGDI Hybrid Specific Engine delivers 525 Nm of torque and 255 kW of power. This engine works in harmony with the Hybrid Specific Transmission to deliver performance even at high speeds. The vehicle attracted attention with its fuel consumption of 2024 l/3,3 kilometers in the Seven Nations Marathon Ultra Long Range test conducted in October 100.
The continuously variable hybrid-specific transmission (DHT) makes the JAECOO 7 PHEV’s gear shifts smooth and silent. The vehicle can adapt itself to driving conditions and charge the battery through the energy recovery system.
The high-performance battery pack extends the JAECOO 7 PHEV’s all-electric driving range to over 90 km. Tests have shown that the total driving range has reached 1.353 kilometers. The vehicle stands out with its wide temperature resistance from -35 to 60 degrees Celsius, and can also be used as a mobile power source thanks to its 3,3 kW V2L (Vehicle Charging) function.
JAECOO aims for innovative leadership in mobility technology with its Super Hybrid System, with the motto of “Born for New Energy”. The company plans to offer personalized new energy travel solutions to its users in the Turkish market.
