SUZUKI has introduced its first mass-produced electric vehicle (BEV) model, the e-VITARA, to the world in Milan, Italy. Production of the new e-VITARA will begin in spring 2025 and is expected to be available in Europe, India and Japan in summer 2025. Suzuki had previously showcased the eVX concept car at the Auto Expo in India in January 2023 and at the Japan Mobility Show in October of the same year. The new e-VITARA model is based on this concept car. The new e-VITARA stands out as Suzuki’s first global strategic electric vehicle (BEV) model.
Sharing his views on the brand’s first series-production electric model, Suzuki Motor Corporation President Toshihiro Suzuki said, “The e-VITARA is our first electric vehicle that we have developed to offer our customers an easy-to-use electric vehicle. In order to achieve a carbon-neutral society, we will offer different options, including electric vehicles, hybrid vehicles and CNG vehicles adapted to specific regions. The introduction of the new e-VITARA model represents an important milestone on the road to carbon neutrality. After introducing our new e-VITARA model, we will continue to expand our electric vehicle lineup and offer mobility solutions suitable for all needs.”
Launched with the “High Technology and Adventure” design theme, the new e-VITARA inspires a sense of adventure by combining the style of a modern electric vehicle with the powerful structure of a 4×4 SUV. While the model’s exterior design creates a striking appearance with its 18-inch wheels and long wheelbase, the interior completes this design theme with an integrated display with advanced equipment and robust-looking panels.
