While many companies are competing with each other to launch their own electric cars, the Italian luxury car company is also following the market closely.

Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna announced that the first fully electric Ferrari will be introduced in 2025 and will be launched in 2026.

Ferrari's factory plans

Ferrari will build a special production facility for electric cars in Maranello, Italy.

Annual capacity will increase to 20 thousand

The new facility increases Ferrari's overall theoretical production capacity to approximately 20 thousand vehicles per year.

The company invested approximately 200 million euros in a new building in Maranello, its headquarters in northern Italy, where it will produce its first electric car.

The new investment of 42 square meters added to the existing facility in Maranello provides Ferrari with an additional car assembly line.

The supercar manufacturer will also produce valuable in-house components for electric vehicles, including axles, motors and battery packs, at the new facility.

We now know very little about the first electric model to be produced by Ferrari, which is afraid of the finite battery technology and long charging times.

For luxury and low-production brands such as Ferrari and Aston Martin, it will take a little longer to switch to fully electric models. However, at least one electric vehicle from these brands will appear in the coming years.
