Green Bursa Rally, the second leg of Petrol Ofisi Maxima 2023 Turkey Rally Championship, was held on 19-21 May. Pirelli RA and Pirelli RW tires stood out in the vehicles competing in the top 10.
Having achieved its first great success in the field of motor sports in 1907 when Prince Scipione Borghese won the Beijing-Paris race with Pirelli tires, Pirelli continues to be among the first choices of the athletes in the vehicles in the Turkish Rally Championship. Especially in the Yeşil Bursa Rally, Pirelli RA and RW tires, which stand out with their superior handling and agility on asphalt surfaces in difficult weather conditions, became the choice of most of the pilots who entered the top 10 in this stage.
In the start ceremony of the race, 19 May Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm with the participation of 148 athletes. After the ceremony, attended by Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank and Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Alinur Aktaş, the teams competed in 465 special stages on a 10-kilometer-long asphalt track for two days.
Burak Çukurova-Burak Akçay from BC Vision Motorsport won the general classification in the race, while the team was the same. zamAt the same time, he also achieved Class 2 first place. Ümit Can Özdemir-Batuhan Memişyazıcı from GP Garage My Team came in second and Ali Türkkan-Burak Erdener from Castrol Ford Team Turkey, who raced with Pirelli tires despite the challenging weather conditions, reached the third place in the general classification as well as the first place in Class 3.
Tire selection determined the victory in the Power Stage, which brought additional points and was run as the last stage of the race. The second day zaman zamCastrol Ford Team Turkey became the winner of the "Brands" and BC Vision Motorsport was the winner of the "Teams" in the rally, where the rainy weather at the moment forced the teams.
Father and son team Ömer Gür-Levent Gür won the historic classification open to classic rally cars and the Category 1 first place, while Tan-Selda Çağlayan couple became the second place and Yılmaz Köprücü-Utku Güloğlu became the third place. Selda Çağlayan won the Historic class female co-pilot first prize. And Sunman – Mehmet Akif Yalçın team, who won the Fiesta Rally Cup, also preferred RA and RW tires throughout the race.
In TOSFED Rally Cup classification, BC Vision Motorsport's Melih Cevdet Yıldırım-Bora Arabacı ranked first in general classification and Category 2, while Kaan Kara-Taner Kara in Category 1 and Fatih Selim Göçer-Ali Tuğrul in Category 3 In category 4, Kaya and Kemal Çetinkaya-Tolga Tezeken were the teams that completed the cup in the first place. Çiğdem Tümerkan, who started a rally for the first time with her daughter Zeynep Tümerkan, became the first female pilots, while Cansu Açar, who took her first start with Sinan Yardimici, was the name that reached the first place in female co-pilots.
Petrol Ofisi Maxima 2023 Turkey Rally Championship will continue with the Eskişehir Rally to be held on 10-11 June.
