The all-renewed, all-electric and fully-connected E-Transit Courier offers a much larger and more flexible payload, as well as unmatched efficiency in its segment with Ford Pro's connected services.

E-Transit Courier will be produced at Ford Otosan Craiova factory in late 2024. Production of diesel and gasoline engine models will start in Craiova in the third quarter of 2023.

Ford Pro made the global launch of its new fully electric commercial vehicle E-Transit Courier developed by Ford Otosan at Ford Otosan's R&D Center in Istanbul.

The vehicle architecture of E-Transit Courier was developed according to the needs and expectations determined by customer research and interviews, and was designed by Ford Otosan designers and engineers to offer the most appropriate solutions to customers with the philosophy of "Design Thinking". Integrated into Ford Pro's software and connected services platform, the fully connected E-Transit Courier offers 25 percent more cargo volume and more payload than the current model, so customers can work more efficiently.

Hans Schep, Ford Pro Europe General Manager, said: “The E-Transit Courier takes its segment to the next level with its superior EV performance, enhanced load capacity and fully connectivity. Ford Pro's long-held market leadership gives us unprecedented insight into customers' needs. “With the E-Transit Courier, we will help our customers achieve high efficiency from compact vans with greater connectivity.”

Ford Otosan General Manager Güven Özyurt said, “We continue to increase our role in Ford's electrification journey with the E-Transit Courier, the latest indicator of our engineering and design competencies, as well as our production power. We take great pride in developing the design of the new Courier, which we will bring to our customers with both electric and internal combustion engine alternatives, together with the Ford design teams in Dunton and Cologne, and taking full responsibility for its engineering. As Ford Otosan, we will continue to develop and produce vehicles that will always carry us to the future.”

In addition to its design and engineering, the E-Transit Courier, which will be produced by Ford Otosan at its Craiova factory, will be offered for sale in gasoline and diesel versions in 2023 and in electric versions in 2024.

All-electric efficiency and charging solutions

The E-Transit Courier's all-electric powertrain is designed to offer customers an uncompromising driving experience, including a powerful 100 kW engine and single-pedal drive capability.

Ford Pro Charging offers a solution for charging at home, warehouses and public places, including hardware setup and management software that helps optimize the charging process. Streamlined invoicing and management processes through Ford Pro Charging software also support businesses to take their business vehicles home and facilitate public charging.

E-Transit Courier, which is aimed to charge in 11 hours5,7 with 1 kW AC current at home, is expected to be popular among customers who prefer home charging. In addition, charging can be planned using the SYNC screen or charging software to benefit from a more favorable electricity tariff at night.

With the DC fast charging feature up to 100 kW for charging in public places, it is foreseen that the vehicle will be charged for 10 minutes to add 1 km of range, and to be charged between 87 and 35 percent in less than 10 minutes. It also comes with the BlueOval Charging Network, which is planned to include E-Transit Courier public chargers.

Customers with five or more vehicles can also take advantage of Ford Pro E-Telematics' personalized features. The vehicle uses instant data to maximize productivity and offers features that support efficient and intuitive use of Ford Pro Charger.

With the “Plug and Charge” feature, E-Transit Courier offers convenient and easy charging via BlueOval Charge Network devices. With the plug-in, the charging process starts automatically, and after pulling the plug, an invoice and charge summary is sent to the vehicle owner. In order to travel more distance between two charges, the vehicle's "Intelligent Range" feature collects data to provide more accurate range calculation.

Customer oriented design

The all-new body design of the E-Transit Courier offers greater load capacity in all dimensions. Thanks to the rear-wheel width increased to 1.220 mm, the compact van can transport two Euro pallets simultaneously for the first time. The total cargo volume of 2,9 m3 is 25% more than the previous model. In addition, the volume of the vehicle can be further increased by using the new load-through bulkhead feature that allows it to carry objects longer than 2.600mm, such as timber or pipes. All-electric modelzami payload2 700 kg, azami pulling weight is 750 kg3.

E-Transit Courier helps businesses stand out with its bold, distinctive exterior design and spacious, practical interior designed according to the needs of compact van users. The all-new model includes unique features such as a “round with corners” steering wheel to improve the driver's knee room and visibility, as well as standard equipment features such as a gear lever that offers more storage space, a push button ignition and an electronic handbrake.

The “Digiboard” instrument cluster features a 4-inch center touchscreen display with Ford's latest SYNC 12 system. Subscription-based Connected Navigation, which will also be available in the Turkish market in the future, can increase productivity and reduce the driver's workload with updates on traffic, parking, charging and region-specific conditions. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility is standard4. The innovative, unique "Office Pack" in its class includes a foldable flat work surface and lighting to make it easier and more convenient to use a laptop, fill out paperwork or take a break in the cabin.

Driver and load safety is one of the most important issues in the design of the E-Transit Courier. E-Transit Courier sets a new benchmark in the segment with its comprehensive advanced driver assistance systems offered as standard5. The optional Adaptive Cruise Control System with Lane Centering and Stop & Go, Blind Spot Information System with Cross Traffic Alert, Junction Assist and Reverse Brake Assist make the driver more comfortable in city driving.

Thanks to the built-in modem, which is standard in every E-Transit Courier, with the Ford Pro ecosystem, every zamcapacity of the vehicle without requiring an open connection and a dealer visit. zamProvides over-the-air software updates that can improve in no time.

Improved security and cost of ownership

After enabling the built-in modem, drivers will be able to benefit from advanced vehicle safety alerts for potential collisions and thefts via Ford Pro Software in the future. With the Fleet Start Prevention feature, fleet managers will be able to remotely enable and disable the E-Transit Courier to prevent theft or unauthorized use outside of working hours.

Ford Pro, in collaboration with vehicle safety specialist TVL, offers factory-fitted lock packages for the E-Transit Courier. These security packages include the activation of secondary hook locks against attacks such as breaking into the vehicle and the automatic closing and locking of sliding side doors to reduce the driver's workload and make deliveries faster.

Ford Pro Service expects the E-Transit Courier's unplanned maintenance costs to be at least 35 percent lower than diesel-powered models. The all-new van is supported by the same extensive Ford Pro Service network as the rest of the Transit family, which includes expanded Mobile Service capacity, a unique connected uptime system and Europe's largest private commercial vehicle dealer network.

1-Charge time is based on manufacturer's computer engineering simulations. The charging rate decreases as the battery approaches full capacity. Your results may vary depending on peak charging times and battery state of charge.

2-Maximum carrying capacity varies according to accessories and vehicle configuration. See the label on the door jamb for the carrying capacity of a particular vehicle.

3-Maximum towing capacity varies depending on load, vehicle configuration, accessories and number of passengers.

4-Requires phone with active data service and compatible software. SYNC 4 does not control 3rd party products during use. 3. The parties are solely responsible for their own functionality.

5-Driver assistance features are complementary and do not replace the driver's attention, judgment and need to control the vehicle. It does not replace safe driving. See Owner's Manual for details and limitations.
