According to the survey; In the first quarter of 2023, domestic sales increased by 6.42 percent on average compared to the last quarter of last year. Again, in the first quarter of the year, there was an average of 2022 percent increase in domestic sales compared to the same period of 16.5. In this period, the rate of distributor members who increased their sales by more than 50 percent reached 11.5 percent, while this rate did not increase at this rate in producer members.

9.83 percent increase in sales is expected in the second quarter!

The survey also included expectations for the second quarter of the year. Accordingly, it was observed that an average of 2023 percent increase was expected in domestic sales in the second quarter of 9.83 in the sector. The survey also points to a 9.56 percent increase in sales compared to the same period last year. The rate of OSS Association members, who stated that there was no change in the collection processes, which was 2022 percent in the last quarter of 60, rose to 2023 percent in the first quarter of 65. Compared to previous surveys, a significant decrease was observed in the proportion of members who expressed the process positively.

Employment has increased!

45 percent of the members participating in the archeology increased their employment in the first quarter of the year. 50 percent of the members maintained their employment during the said period. Compared to the last quarter of 2022, the rate of members stating that their employment has decreased remained at the level of 5 percent. It was noteworthy that the employments of producer and distributor members were close to each other.

The biggest problem is cash flow problems!

Problems in the sector constituted one of the most striking parts of the survey. While "problems in cash flow" came first among the problems observed by members in the first quarter of 2023, "supply problems" continued to be among the priority problems. 50 percent of the members described the cash flow problems as the biggest problems for the sector. 43,3 percent of the respondents pointed to supply problems, 38,3 percent to cargo costs and delivery problems. In addition, 26,7 percent of the participants listed the loss of business and turnover, and 25 percent listed the exchange rate and exchange rate increase as important problems.

45 percent of members plan to invest!

Along with the survey, the investment plans of the sector were also scrutinized. According to the survey, the rate of members considering making new investments in the next three months fell behind the previous period, with 45 percent. While 55,2 percent of producer members were planning investments in the previous survey, this rate increased to 61,5 percent in the new survey, while the rate for distributor members, which was 58,5 percent, decreased to 32,4 percent in this period. It was observed that 46,7 percent of the members participating in the survey predicted that the industry will improve in the next three months.

The increase in production and exports continues!

The average capacity utilization rate of the manufacturers in the first quarter of the year was 71.54 percent. This rate was 2022 percent in 74.48. In the first quarter, members' production increased by 5,77 percent compared to the previous quarter and by 10.58 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. In addition, in the first quarter of the year, the members' exports increased by 5,19 percent compared to the previous quarter and by 2022 percent compared to the same period of 6,92.
