36 Months and 6 Thousand Kilometers Fines for 6 Businesses in Second Hand Car Sales

An administrative fine of more than 6 million liras was imposed on 6 businesses across Turkey in the implementation of the 36-month and 15 thousand kilometer condition, which was introduced by the Ministry of Commerce to prevent exorbitant pricing in second-hand cars.

The statement from the ministry is as follows:

“In January 2023, inspections were carried out by our ministry within the scope of the marketing and sales restriction, which is known as the 6-month and 6 thousand kilometer regulation in the public, before the authorized automobile dealers and auto galleries engaged in the trade of second-hand motor vehicles.

As a result of these inspections; A total of 6 TL for 3.271.050 enterprises in İzmir; A total of 6 TL for 2.974.920 businesses in Ankara; Total 1 TL for 3.495.692 business in Samsun; A total of 4 TL for 927.350 businesses in Istanbul; A total of 2 TL for 934.025 businesses in Kayseri; A total of 2 TL for 886.900 businesses in Bursa; 2 TL in total for 710.400 businesses in Konya; A total of 3 TL for 656.790 businesses in Erzurum; A total of 2 TL for 523.500 businesses in Kocaeli; A total of 2 TL for 400.000 businesses in Balıkesir; A total of 2 TL for 400.000 businesses in Antalya; 1 TL in total for 300.000 business in Sakarya; 1 TL in total for 200.000 business in Eskişehir; A total of 1 TL for 124.500 business in Denizli; A total of 1 TL for 100.000 business in Manisa; Administrative fine of 36 TL was imposed on 15.905.127 enterprises.

Inspections for the detection of activities contrary to the marketing and sales restriction for 6 months and 6 thousand kilometers will continue without interruption, and an administrative fine will be imposed by our Ministry on those who violate the said regulation.
