Rent Go Launched Project to Remind the Cultures of Anatolian Lands!

Turkey's car rental brand, rent go, started a project to remind the cultures of the Anatolian lands where it was born. Within the scope of the project, the Kalandar tradition, which has been celebrated for centuries in the Black Sea and neighboring geographies, was reminded and 2023 New Year's Kalandar was celebrated.

Known for its superior service quality and the importance it attaches to customer satisfaction, Rent Go has started its efforts to remind many forgotten traditions with the project of reminding the cultures of Anatolian lands.

As in many geographies and cultures of the world, different New Year's Eve celebrations have been held in Anatolia and the Caucasus for hundreds of years. One of these celebrations, the night that connects the 13th of January to the 14th, is the Kalandar celebration, which is widely celebrated in the Eastern Black Sea Region. Every year, local people wear interesting clothes and enter the New Year's Kalandar together with games played specific to the region. The children sell the treats they collect from the houses they visit, or consume them at home, by singing mani with the interesting clothes they wear and the bags they take on their shoulders.

Rent Go General Manager Köksal Öztürk spoke about the Kalandar event they held at Rent Go: “Our country has hosted many civilizations throughout history and has a deep-rooted heritage from a historical perspective. As Turkey's XNUMX% domestically owned car rental brand, we find it valuable to keep the traditions of Anatolian lands that have been going on for hundreds of years like Kalandar. To remind us of this beautiful tradition, we organized a special traditional celebration for our customers and employees from the Black Sea region, and presented them with our bags of treats and letters, the symbol of Kalandar. We want these traditions that made us who we are, originating from Anatolian lands, to be kept alive and passed on to future generations.”
