It was announced that electric vehicles produced by Turkey's Automobile Initiative Group (TOGG) will be put on the road in April 2023. TOGG, which has a public purchase guarantee, will sell only 500 cars to the state this year.
It is planned that 30 thousand electric cars produced by TOGG will be made available to government agencies. The public procurement process of TOGG will be undertaken by the State Supply Office (DMO). In the first place, TOGG's C segment SUV model will take its place in the vehicle inventory of government institutions. According to the news in Sözcü, according to the protocol signed by DMO with TOGG in 2020, starting with the purchase of 2023 'C-SUV' in 500, a total of 9.500 C-SUVs, 15 thousand 750 C-Sedans and 4.750 C- MPV/VAN acquisition is planned. With the purchase of the commercial model, this number will reach 30 thousand. 2023 TOGGs to be purchased in 500 corresponds to 115% of the 0,43 thousand vehicles in the public sector.
Treasury and Finance Minister Nureddin Nebati said, “We are also implementing the public procurement guarantee for TOGG, our country's vision project. With the use of these vehicles in the public sector, we have associated this place with the DMO and made a purchase guarantee. By sending TOGG to the governors, we will make it appear all over Turkey,” he said.
In Turkey's Automobile Enterprise Group (TOGG), Anadolu Group, BMC, Kök Group, Turkcell, Zorlu Holding each have a 19 percent share, and the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) has a 5 percent partnership.
German Bosch for the engine of TOGG, Chinese Siro for its battery, German Edag for its integration, English Mira for the chassis system, Italian Prinfarina for its design.
