“We are pleased to close the year 2022 with stunning results”, said Mercedes-Benz Automotive Executive Board and Automobile Group President Şükrü Bekdikhan, “In the face of the climate crisis, which is both ambitious and increasingly important, such as being carbon neutral by 2039, we set records that we plan to further develop in electric vehicle sales in the coming years. We started the series. With the EQXX, which reached a range of 1.000 km on a single charge at the beginning of the year, we saw together what kind of future Mercedes-Benz engineering drew for electric cars. Our EQE, EQA and EQB models, our sporty top class sedan, as well as the EQS, which we launched in Turkey this year, attracting attention with its superior features, showed that our approach, which sets new standards for electric cars in the automotive industry, met the expectations of our customers and achieved general acceptance. Explaining the targets for 2023, Bekdikhan said, “2023 will be an exciting year. With the new ecosystem we will create, we aim to set a new standard and criterion for customer focus. In this direction, we will also pioneer the emergence of a new competitive culture for the best customer experience and the start of a radical change in the luxury retail industry.

With the investments in automobile charging infrastructure in our country, we anticipate that the share of our electric automobile sales will increase further and exceed 10 percent in total sales. In 2023, we aim to bring our highly anticipated New E-Class and CLE models to our customers this year and to maintain our leadership in the premium segment. Mercedes-Benz has a very clear goal: to make the most desirable cars. We will continue to keep this promise in 2023," he said.

Tufan Akdeniz: “We maintained our leadership in 8+1 passenger transportation in 2022 as well”

Tufan Akdeniz, Member of the Executive Board of Mercedes-Benz Automotive Light Commercial Vehicles Product Group; “For light commercial vehicles, 2022 has been a year in which sales have been relatively weak until the last two months due to the ongoing logistics problems since the pandemic. However, we have come a long way in meeting the pending demand, especially in December, by solving these problems to a large extent. We are happy to maintain our leadership in 8+1 passenger transportation in 2022 as well. In the first 11 months of the year, while our average monthly sales were around 420 vehicles, we exceeded 1.650 in December alone. Thus, we reached the highest monthly sales in the light commercial vehicles category in our 26-year history. In the last month of the year, one out of every three light commercial vehicles sold in the middle segment was the Mercedes-Benz Vito. In the same month, we achieved the highest ever market share of 33,8 percent in the light commercial vehicle category. In 2022, we celebrated Mercedes-Benz Vito's twenty-fifth birthday in our country, with sales exceeding 40 thousand units. On the other hand, with the Sprinter, which can be converted into a caravan in parallel with the changing family habits trends since the pandemic, we have offered our customers the luxury and comfort of Mercedes-Benz with an infrastructure that can be customized according to their needs. We foresee that supply and logistics problems will decrease relatively in 2023 compared to 2022. We plan to maintain our performance by taking agile steps in the increasing market in parallel with the market conditions.”
