Taking its first step in the Dakar Rally held last year in order to show the efficiency and competitive power of its e-mobile in motor sports, Audi aims to be among the best with the RS Q e-tron this year.

In the second race of the RS Q e-tron at the Dakar Rally, Audi focused the entire team on one goal: the first podium victory. As it is known, Audi won four stages in the first attempt at the rally last year.

Audi aims for the podium at the Dakar Rally, which will start on New Year's Eve. The team consisting of Mattias Ekström/Emil Bergkvist, Stéphane Peterhansel/Edouard Boulanger and Carlos Sainz/Lucas Cruz, which will compete with RS Q e-tron vehicles for the second time this year, wants to achieve a podium victory at the end of 15 stages, one of which is the entrance.

Seventy percent of the race route in Saudi Arabia is new to teams. Making the route much more challenging in terms of sport, ASO organizers extended the stages between the Red Sea and the Persian Gulf. The high sand dunes in 'The Empty Quarter - Sand Desert' will also challenge the teams.

Stating that they are in a tense and excited wait, Audi Motor Sports President Rolf Michl said, “But the same zamAt the moment, we feel completely ready for the rally. Our vehicle is much safer now. Significant improvements have been made compared to the first generation RS Q e-tron. Our processes are also much better tested. Our goal is to see our first podium this year. We have prepared as thoroughly as possible, but all external factors remain unpredictable. We don't have a chance to experience these factors until the race in Dakar." said.

The innovative RS Q e-tron with its electric drive, energy converter and high-voltage battery also won the “The Racecar Powertrain of the Year” award by a panel of experts from Race Tech magazine this month.
