Cars are an important part of our lives. Did you know that there are invisible dangers in our cars, which offer us easy transportation? Experts say that the air inside cars is 9 to 12 times more polluted than outside. According to the research published in Science of the Total Environment; Vehicles with open windows and driving have higher pollutant concentrations than vehicles with closed windows and open fans.

Operating within the body of Abalıoğlu Holding, Hifyber, with the nanofiber filtration media developed for the cabin air filters of the cars; He explained that by trapping more than 90 percent of harmful particles such as viruses and dust, the health of the driver and passengers can be protected.

Our cars, which bring comfort to our lives, can spoil our health if the necessary precautions are not taken. Because the vehicles in motion take the toxic gases from the surrounding vehicles and circulate, the air inside the vehicle is 9 to 12 times more polluted than outside.

According to the research published in Science of the Total Environment and measuring the indoor air quality of cars in 10 different cities; When the windows are open, the pollutants in the vehicle are at PM10 (dust) levels, and when the fans are on or circulating the vehicle air, they are at PM2.5 (dust) levels. These results; shows that higher concentrations of pollutants occur in vehicles with open windows and driving.

Pollution increases by 40% in areas with heavy traffic

Especially in places with heavy traffic, the pollution in the indoor air of cars increases by 40 percent. If this is the case zamunderstand that it can impair the health of the driver and passengers. Because pollutants in the PM2.5 and PM10 classes taken by the respiratory tract cannot resist the respiratory system and penetrate deep into the lungs, zamcauses shortness of breath. In addition, these pollutants increase the risk of respiratory death in infants under one year of age, while they can cause asthma and bronchitis in children.

So what can be done to improve the indoor air quality of cars on the go?

Hifyber Sales Manager Altay Ozan, who says, “With the correct use of the ventilation systems inside the cars, the exposure of the passengers to air pollutants can be reduced”, draws attention to the filtration media used in the cabin air filters of the vehicles for safe travel:

“The cabin air filter, which is responsible for providing clean air for the driver and passengers, traps airborne particles entering the vehicle through the heating and air conditioning vents. Cabin air filters, which clean the air and condition it indoors, are the same. zamIt also prevents bad odors. However, the fiber air filters used in the air filter cabinets of the automobiles today, despite their various advantages, are insufficient in capturing ultra-fine dust particles. For this reason, the filtration media used in cabin air filters must be developed using nanotechnology to provide clean air circulation in car cabins.

“It traps more than 95 percent of harmful particles”

As Hifyber, our nanofiber filtration media product, which we developed for cabin air filters, provides high filtration efficiency in cabin air filters, It traps more than 95 percent of harmful particles such as viruses, dust and pollen. The nanofiber filtration media, which provides high protection against allergens, also prevents the formation of mold and bacteria on the filter. It provides safe indoor air by trapping even particles with a thickness of 0,05 microns up to 95 percent.”
