Mercedes-Benz Türk broke new ground in Turkey with the three-point seat belts, which it started to offer as standard equipment in travel buses. Offering three-point seat belts as standard equipment in all Mercedes-Benz Travego and Tourismo models since August, the company continues to raise the bar in the sector. Mercedes-Benz Turk aims to reduce the risk of serious injury to passengers in a possible accident with the use of three-point seat belts.

Maintaining its leading position in the market for many years with the state-of-the-art coaches manufactured at its Hoşdere Bus Factory, Mercedes-Benz Türk has become the first brand in Turkey to use three-point seat belts in all passenger seats of its coaches.

As of August, Mercedes-Benz Turk has started to take the passenger seats of all Travego and Tourismo models off the production lines with three-point seat belts. The brand continues to raise the bar in safety with the three-point seat belts, which it started to offer as standard equipment. With the use of these seat belts, it is aimed to reduce the risk of serious injury to passengers in a possible accident, and travel becomes safer.

According to the legal regulations in Turkey; Although three-point seat belts are mandatory only for driver, host/hostess and some passenger seats, Mercedes-Benz Türk has increased its safety standards beyond legal requirements by offering three-point seat belts as standard equipment on all passenger seats of Travego and Tourismo models.

Mercedes-Benz Türk Bus Marketing and Sales Director Osman Nuri Aksoy used the following statements in his statement on the subject: “As a company that sets the standards in the travel bus industry, we are constantly improving our vehicles in line with the feedback from passengers, assistants, captains, businesses and customers. In this direction, we are breaking new ground in Turkey by offering three-point seat belts in all passenger seats of our Mercedes-Benz Travego and Tourismo models since August. We have taken our pioneering safety equipment one step further by offering three-point seat belts, which are considered one of the most important steps taken in terms of passenger safety in the automotive industry today, in our coaches.”

One of the most important steps taken in terms of passenger safety

Travel has become safer with the introduction of three-point seat belts to passengers nearly 60 years ago. The importance of three-point seat belts increases even more, especially in intercity trips, when buses travel at higher speeds.

The fact that the number of points in the seat belts is three instead of two increases the grip strength of the belts and the comfort of the passengers. In the event of a possible accident, these belts, which hold both the lower part of the body (waist and hip) and the upper part (shoulder and chest), can spread the energy of the moving body to the upper part of the body and keep the body safe.
