BMC's environmentally friendly project was deemed worthy of support within the scope of the "Horizon Europe Programme", the world's largest civilian-funded R&D and innovation program supported by the European Union. BMC received the highest score from the European Commission with its ESCALATE (Powering EU Net Zero Future by Escalating Zero Emission HDVs and Logistic Intelligence) Project, which aims at clean and competitive solutions for all transportation modes under the heading of climate, energy and mobility.
800 Km Range Environmentally Friendly Tractor Will Be Designed and Its Prototype Will Be Produced
With the project, it is planned to reduce the dependence on fossil fuels such as gasoline and diesel, which are traditionally used in heavy commercial vehicles, by using clean energy sources and to reach zero emissions. It is aimed that the environmentally friendly BMC tractor, which will be developed together with all the stakeholders involved in the project, will reach a range of 800 km.
The Goal is to Reach Zero Emissions in Heavy Duty Vehicles
Innovative concepts will be developed in three main areas in order to achieve zero emissions in heavy-duty goods vehicles in the project. These concepts will primarily enable the vehicle to have much more efficient and cost-effective infrastructure systems. It will also consist of digital and artificial intelligence-based management systems that take into account the design of grid-friendly and fast charging infrastructure systems and the capacity, availability and speed of fleets. Thus, a sustainable ecosystem will be created by reaching zero emission values in the heavy cargo transportation sector.
Multi-Partner Global Project
Under the coordination of TÜBİTAK, with the support of FEV Germany and Surrey University, the project, which includes 37 stakeholders from around the world, will start in January 2023.
