National racing driver Cem Bölükbaşı competed in the eighth leg of the Formula 2M World Championship on the Spielberg track, Austria. Bölükbaşı had the best qualifying performance of his Formula 13 career by placing 2th in the qualifying laps.

Turkey's first Formula 2 racing driver, Cem Bölükbaşı, competed in the eighth leg of the 2022 FIA Formula 2 World Championship at the Spielberg track in Austria on the weekend of 8-10 July.

Cem Bölükbaşı completed the qualifying laps held on Saturday, July 9th in 13th place, and achieved the most successful qualifying lap performance in his Formula 2 career to date. The national pilot could not complete the sprint race due to the brake problem he experienced. Bölükbaşı had to leave the main race, which he started in the 13th place on Sunday, due to technical problems after a contact.

The ninth leg of Formula 2 will take place from 22 to 24 July at the Le Castellet circuit in France.

Starting March 18-20 at the Bahrain International Circuit, the F2 2022 Championship will run for 14 weeks, respectively Jeddah, Imola, Barcelona, ​​Monte-Carlo, Baku, Silverstone, Spielberg, Le Castellet, Budapest, Spa-Francorchamps, Zandvoort, Monza and Yas. It will continue with the races that will take place on the marina tracks. The championship, which has the same calendar as Formula 1, will end with the final on the Yas Marina track on 18-20 November 2022.
