Stellantis and Toyota Motor Europe (TME) announced a new agreement for large-volume commercial vehicles for the European market. The new large-volume commercial vehicle complements TME's compact and mid-volume commercial vehicle line-up under the existing partnership, strengthening Stellantis' light commercial vehicle (HTA) presence in Europe in line with its strategic plan for Dare Forward 2030 (Dare to 2030). With this new partnership, TME customers will benefit from the latest, zero emission technologies offered by Stellantis in the light commercial vehicle segment.

In this context, Stellantis NV and Toyota Motor Europe NV (TME) announced that they are expanding their existing partnership with a new large-volume commercial vehicle agreement, including a battery-electric version. The new vehicle is the third body type under the agreement. With the compact, medium-volume and now large-volume light commercial vehicle, the light commercial vehicle product range is completed.

Stellantis will supply TME with a new large-volume commercial vehicle for sale in Europe under the Toyota brand. The new vehicle will be produced at Stellantis' plants in Gliwice/Poland and Atessa/Italy. The vehicle that will emerge with the new project, which is planned to be implemented in the middle of 2024, will be the first product of TME in the large-volume commercial vehicle segment. This agreement will facilitate Stellantis' plan to consolidate all software domains into high-performance computers, leverage high-performance, low-energy Snapdragon Automotive Platforms solutions in all key vehicle areas, and contribute to securing Stellantis' supply chain on strategic components.

To complement Toyota's light commercial vehicle range in Europe

The cooperation between Stellantis and TME, which started in 2012 with Toyota's medium-size light commercial vehicle produced at Stellantis' Hordain factory in France, continued in 2019 with a compact-size light commercial vehicle produced in Stellantis' factory in Vigo, Spain.
