Road Tests of All Mercedes-Benz Buses Produced in the World Are Performed in Turkey

Road tests of all Mercedes-Benz buses produced in the world are carried out by the Test Department located in Mercedes-Benz Türk Istanbul R&D Center.

In tests conducted all over Turkey, the durability of a newly produced bus under real road, climate and usage conditions is determined before mass production. Thanks to the data collected in these tests, it is possible for the vehicle to be included in the scope of development and improvement in line with the results obtained while it is still in the testing phase.

Istanbul R&D Center within the body of Mercedes-Benz Türk Hoşdere Bus Factory has been operating in cooperation with Daimler Truck R&D centers in Germany and other countries for many years. The Test Department at Mercedes-Benz Türk's Istanbul R&D Center also conducts road tests of all Mercedes-Benz buses produced in the world. In tests all over Turkey, the durability of a newly produced bus in real road, climate and usage conditions before mass production is determined, while the function and durability of all systems and components of the vehicle are checked.

The buses produced by Daimler Truck at its facilities in different parts of the world are tested in different geographical and climatic conditions in Turkey so that they can show the best performance. In the tests carried out in Erzurum during the winter months, the performance of buses at an altitude of 30 meters above sea level is tested, as well as the performance of buses at -2000 degrees. Summer term tests are carried out in the Mediterranean Region and around İzmir. In these tests, the performance of buses at temperatures above 40 degrees is tested. The tests in the spring are carried out in Istanbul and Thrace regions.

In all these tests, which lasted more than a year, buses are used in all weather conditions, on various road types such as highways, urban areas, side roads, on the hardest ramps and in heavy traffic.

Every vehicle, which is pushed to its limits with different test scenarios, is real-worldly by using special measurement systems through the numerous sensors on it. zamInstant information is collected and evaluated. In addition, the vehicle is checked against possible problems with physical controls and various measurements made on all subsystems at predetermined periods. Thus, it is possible to determine and implement the necessary development and improvement scopes for the vehicle while it is still in the testing phase.
