At the stand opened by Turkey's Automobile Initiative Group (TOGG), Turkey's domestic car TOGG made its debut in Samsun for the first time after Istanbul and Ankara.
The opening and award ceremony of the new service building of Samsun Chamber of Commerce and Industry & Commodity Exchange was held with the participation of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu.
In his speech here, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “It is a very rare situation in Turkey that the chamber and the stock market coexist. You have achieved this unity in Samsun very well. With the emergence of this work, Samsun's economy will be served here. Today, I had a conversation with young people from university who are interested in entrepreneurship. It is a great honor to receive the title of doctorate from the university in Samsun. Also, our Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Mayor, Mustafa Demir, said, 'Let's make Rifat from Samsun'. It's a great honor for me. You gave me 'honorary citizenship'. Now I am from Samsun, now you have a fellow citizen from Samsun in Ankara. If there's anything I can do zamI am ready to help you at any moment.”
Underlining that the heads of chambers and exchanges contribute to the country's economy and employment, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “We do not have any financial expectations from these seats. My 365 chambers/exchange president spends out of his pocket and has no income from it. We have the main gain, what is it? There's no atmosphere in this business. I hope the main gain of this business will be in the real world. Because the best of man is the one who is useful to man. We have accepted this principle. If he can open additional business and cook food for 1 person, if an additional person can eat bread with that person, if he can add 1 lira to his country and provide wealth, he will be happy. Despite all the difficult conditions, our brothers continue to produce, buy and sell, with love and enthusiasm, despite the pandemic on the one hand, the war between Ukraine and Russia on the one hand, and the troubles within us on the other. I respectfully greet everyone who supports the economy," he said.
Samsun Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman of the Board Salih Zeki Murzioğlu said, “Samsun Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which has been serving in Samsun for more than 100 years, is one of the most important actors contributing to the development of the city and the region. Although we were born 121 years ago as Samsun Chamber of Commerce and Industry, our ideas, ideals and beliefs will always remain young. I hope this new building will lead to new projects that will add value for Samsun and our country, good works and different firsts.”
Referring to the fact that the domestic car was exhibited in Samsun for the first time in Anatolia, Murzioğlu said: “A meaningful initiative in our country, which has resonated all over the world, our national pride, TOGG, which makes us happy to meet the people of Samsun for the first time in Anatolia, took a historical responsibility to Turkey. I would like to express my gratitude to our President Hisarcıklıoğlu, who also serves as the Chairman of TOGG's Automobile Enterprise Group”.
After the opening, 500 companies that are members of Samsun Chamber of Commerce and Industry and that are among Turkey's Top and Second 12 Industrial Enterprises determined by Istanbul Chamber of Industry, and 1000 companies that are included in Turkey's Top 7 Exporters list announced by Turkish Exporters Assembly, The award was given at the "Stars of Samsun" ceremony.
