Izmir Metropolitan Municipality is strengthening the charging station infrastructure for electric cars, the number of which is increasing throughout the city. Working in line with the "zero carbon" target of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer in 2050, the Metropolitan Municipality continues its efforts to spread electric vehicles in the city. Charging station in all parking lots by the end of the target year

İZELMAN INC. General Manager Burak Alp Ersen said that it is aimed to have charging stations in all parking lots by the end of the year. Ersen said, “In 2022, İZELMAN A.Ş. We plan to use some of these vehicles as Izmir Metropolitan Municipality service vehicles, and to include some of them in the MOOV application.” Ersen, who also gave information about the MOOV application, the vehicle sharing platform with which İzmir Metropolitan Municipality cooperates to encourage the use of electric vehicles, said, “By deploying 15 fully electric vehicles to the vehicle sharing system, which is widely used in European countries, our citizens of İzmir can use fully electric vehicles through the MOOV application. we provided. In this way, our main goal is to ensure that vehicles with low carbon emissions become widespread in our city. It is planned to popularize electric vehicles instead of fossil fuel vehicles by 2030 in European Union member countries. We will continue to work towards the same goal," he said.

Prepared Turkey's first Green City Action Plan

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, which has prepared Turkey's first Green City Action Plan, carries out multi-faceted studies to reduce the effects of the climate crisis and to create a climate-resilient city. Within the framework of the European Union's commitments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 percent by 40, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer signed the Presidents' Agreement. Energy and climate action plans were prepared in line with this goal.
