Sinopec, one of China's largest fuel distribution companies, has established a station where the country will sell pure hydrogen. Known as one of the largest service station operators in the world, Sinopec now continues its activities by investing in the hydrogen field. Having already partnered with Air Liquide for the equipment of its service stations, Sinopec has now officially announced the creation of a new unit in the hydrogen branch.

The new company, Sinopec Xiong'an New Energy, located near Beijing, is 100 percent owned by the Sinopec parent company and has a capital of 100 million yuan (13,9 million euros). Sinopec, which has committed to an investment of 4,6 billion dollars for the necessary construction works in the hydrogen field, aims to build more than a thousand stations in China by 2025. Sinopec Xiong'an New Energy, which has been appointed as the leading force of the large group in this field, will be responsible for carrying out the construction works and the management of the grid.
