Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer received his third vaccination yesterday at Eşrefpaşa Hospital of the Metropolitan Municipality. Making a statement after being vaccinated, President Soyer said, “The global epidemic of COVID-19 has been continuing its devastating effect both in the world and in our country for about a year and a half. During this period, many people lost their lives, fell ill, and our people suffered material and moral losses. The public and private sectors have been affected by the global epidemic in all aspects, and the losses we have suffered as a society have been compelling. We all tried to cope with the many physical and psychosocial changes brought about by quarantine and restrictions, as well as the fear of getting sick, losing a loved one, losing our own life, and trying to get used to the changes. I am deeply saddened by all the losses and hardships we have experienced. But on the other hand, we didn't give up. We struggled through this process with hope, hand in hand, with solidarity and patience even on the most difficult days. I heartily congratulate all of us for all these efforts. But now let's put an end to this epidemic together. All scientific data show the protection and importance of vaccination. I had my third overdose today. I invite all of you to get vaccinated and to continue preventive measures. Let's get our vaccine, let's paint our beautiful country blue."
Blue Izmir campaign
President Soyer also reminded that they started the Mavi İzmir campaign by saying “Get Vaccinated, Hope for Blue İzmir, Continue Your Protective Measures” on June 14, and said, “We will inform our citizens about COVID-19 and vaccines with face-to-face direct trainings and distance education models under the leadership of our Public Health Department. We guided him to get the answers to his questions from the right and reliable addresses. We aim to paint İzmir blue by reducing it below 100 on the risk map, which shows the case rate in Turkey as 10 thousand, and to be a pioneer in this regard. Let's get into low-risk cities so that preventable casualties come to an end. Our shopkeepers should not shut their shutters. Let our employees continue their work with health. Let our children study in schools. No need for quarantine and restriction applications. Our citizens in need can access the services easily and without any problems.
