Gendarmerie Takes Delivery of the 7th ATAK Helicopter in Sakarya

TAI has delivered the 1922th Atak Helicopter with the tail number J-7 Sakarya to the Gendarmerie General Command. The Gendarmerie General Command announced the delivery with a post on its social media accounts. In the sharing; “The blades of our 1922th Atak helicopter with tail number J-7 Sakarya, which was delivered to our Gendarmerie General Command by TUSAŞ, brought coolness to our souls. We are ready to rise like the sun over the darkness.” statements were included.

Gendarmerie will supply 24 T129 ATAK

With the order given by the Presidency of Defense Industries, it was announced that a total of 18 T129 ATAK helicopters would be delivered to the Gendarmerie General Command aviation units. In the report shared by the Gendarmerie General Command, it is seen that the number has been increased to 24. To date, 6 T129 ATAK helicopters have been delivered to the Gendarmerie General Command by Turkish Aerospace Industries. With today's delivery, the number of T129 ATAK helicopters delivered increased to 7. The first T129 ATAK helicopter was delivered to the Gendarmerie in February 2018, with the tail number J-1453 and the name FATIH.

In the report shared by the Gendarmerie General Command, it was stated that 18 more T129 ATAK helicopters will be supplied. Stating in the report that the HÜRKUŞ-C procurement process is also continuing,

“The Attack Helicopter Procurement Project and the HÜRKUŞ-C Aircraft Procurement Project, which was initiated in order to provide effective and uninterrupted close air fire support required by the Gendarmerie General Command, are continuing. Within the scope of the project, 6 T-129 ATAK helicopters have been taken into the inventory so far and the total number of helicopters will be 24.
