Next Generation Rolls-Royce Ghost Introduced

The GHOST, the most successful model in the Rolls-Royce brand's more than century history, has moved to the new generation this year. This sedan, which was the brand's best-selling model in 10 years, finished production last year. He received a lot of feedback from his customers about what they wanted for the new model, and more importantly, he listened to this feedback. According to Rolls-Royce, the new Ghost has become a “Future Focused” car with “Excellence in Simplicity” reflecting the changing needs of its customers today.

We followed Rolls-Royce's process of introducing the second generation Ghost with the video series they shared throughout August.

Engineers modified the aluminum-intensity Luxury Architecture supporting the Phantom and Cullinan to suit the Ghost's needs in Standard and Extended Wheelbase specifications. The new generation Ghost, introduced on the digital platform, maintains Rolls-Royce's authoritative attitude.

The second generation Ghost, the most technologically advanced Rolls-Royce model ever; LED and laser headlights with a lighting distance of more than 600 meters, wildlife and pedestrian warning focused vision aid in day and night vision, awake assistant, four-camera system with 360 ° and helicopter view, active cruise control, collision warning, cross traffic warning, lane It is the most technologically advanced Rolls-Royce ever produced, including departure and lane change warning, industry-leading 7 × 3 high-resolution head-up display, wireless port, parking assistant, state-of-the-art navigation and entertainment systems.

The feedback from customers, who often want instant torque and quietness, allowed the brand to further develop the 6.75-liter twin-turbocharged V12 petrol engine for Rolls-Royce. The 850Nm/627lb ft and 563bhp/420kW of torque are transferred to the all-wheel steering, all-wheel drive system.

The new Ghost benefits from a new Micro Environmental Treatment System (MEPS).

It channels all cabin air through the Nano-Fleece filter, which can remove nearly all ultra-fine particles from Rolls-Royce's micro-environment in less than two minutes.

Thanks to the handcrafted aluminum body structures, the main structure of the car looks like a single seamless fluid canvas with closed lines evoking the Silver Dawn and Silver Cloud models. For the first time, his iconic sculpture, the Spirit of Ecstasy, is not surrounded by panel lines, but is contained within his own body "lake".

The brand's hallmark, the Magic Carpet Ride, has evolved. Incorporating the world's first upper swing damper unit, the car can now predict the toughest road surfaces and react instantly to them.

Created specifically for Rolls-Royce, this technology stand-alone Upper Swing Damper is the result of five years of collective road and benchmark testing.

Called Planar, this software also manages information that requires the new Ghost to proactively adapt to intrusions in its driving route. The first of these technologies is the brand's Flagbearer system.

Evoking the men who are required by law to raise a red flag in front of the first motor vehicles, this technology consists of a stereo camera system integrated into the windshield and adjusts the suspension proactively rather than reactively at up to 100 km/h.

The second is Rolls-Royce's Satellite-Assisted Transmission system, which pulls GPS data to pre-select the optimum gear for oncoming bends.

For this car, a special group of designers, engineers and craftsmen of the brand created a new illuminated panel. Developed over two years, over 10.000 hours, this remarkable piece brings the Ghost nameplate surrounded by more than 850 stars to the interior of the motor car. The constellation and sign on the passenger side of the instrument panel become completely invisible when the interior lights are not working.

The Bespoke Collective, which fits perfectly with the new Ghost's Post Opulent design application, creates a true luxury innovation instead of using screen technology to achieve the effect that users want. The lighting itself consists of 152 LEDs mounted above and below the dashboard, each of which is color matched to the cabin's clock and indicator dial. A 90.000mm thick light guide with more than 2 laser etched dots on the surface is used to ensure that the Ghost signature is evenly lit. Not only does it distribute the light evenly, it's the same zamAt the same time, as the vehicle moves on the fascia, it creates a shimmering effect that reflects the subtle glow of the Yıldız Headliner.

Introduced as of September, the new generation Ghost is coming to Turkey in the coming days.
