World's Oldest Man South African Blom Dies at 116

Known as the oldest person in the world, 116-year-old Fredie Blom, living in South Africa, died 4 months after celebrating his new age. Fredie Blom, who lost his family to the Spanish flu in 1918 and claimed to be the oldest man in the world, died of a heart attack. 

Blom was born on May 8, 1904, in the town of Adelaide, near the Eastern Cape, South Africa.
