Rail welding ceremony of Ataköy - Basın Ekspres - İkitelli Metro Line, the construction of which started in 2016, was held with the participation of Ekrem İmamoğlu, the head of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) and the municipality bureaucrats.
The first rail source was made by İmamoğlu at the ceremony held at the İkitelli station site of the Ataköy - Basın Ekspres - İkitelli Metro line.
Making a statement at the Ray welding ceremony, İmamoğlu said, “Our Ataköy-İkitelli line is a valuable line for us. Especially with the stop we are connecting now, we are actually connecting the two lines. I hope we will make it operational next year with the three stations here. We are in an intensive study. Our line will carry 36 thousand passengers per hour in one direction. ” said.
The First Phase of the Metro Line Will Go into Service in 2021
Mayor İmamoğlu said that the first phase of the metro, which will become integrated with Marmaray, will be put into service in 2021, and it is planned to put it into service in the first quarter of 2022.
İkitelli-Ataköy Metro Line consisting of 13.5 km and 11 stations; Starting from İkitelli Industrial Station of the existing (M3) Başakşehir - Olympic - Kirazlı Metro Line, it ends at Ataköy Station by following a corridor parallel to Basın Ekspres Connection Road connecting the TEM and D100 Highway. The metro, which will take between İkitelli and Ataköy in 23 minutes, can carry 72 thousand passengers per hour.
