Çorlu Train Accident Case Postponed Due To Covid-19 Outbreak

The trial of the train accident case in Çorlu district of Tekirdağ, where 25 citizens died and 328 were injured, was delayed due to the covid-19 outbreak.

The passenger train, which departed from Uzunköprü district of Edirne to Halkalı, with 362 passengers and 6 personnel, was overthrown on 8 July 2018 around Sarılar Mahallesi in Çorlu district of Tekirdağ, and 7 citizens lost their lives. 25 people were also injured. The 328th hearing of the case, which will be held today at the Çorlu Public Education Center 15 July Hall, was postponed to June 4 within the scope of covid-19 measures.

Yunus Tuğlu, the lawyer of the citizens who died in the accident, stated that postponing the hearing was the right decision and said, “A file where the parties are crowded. The best decision to postpone due to the Covid-19 outbreak said. The hearing was postponed to 25 June.
