Opel factory in Torbalı, which was closed in 2000, will become a spare parts distribution center for brands in the PSA group. Peugeot, Citroen, announced that they have begun work to make strategic spare parts distribution warehouse DS and Opel as major brands within the possession of PSA in the Group, Turkey's President Cornuaille the Opel factory in Torbalı` PSA Group in Europe.
Stating that they are very happy that the Opel Factory in Torbali, which was commissioned in 1990 and closed in 2000, started operating again, Torbalı Chamber of Commerce President (TTO) Abdul Vahap Olgun said: “We have a very suitable logistics with our highway, highway and train connections in Torbali. We are 15 minutes from the airport and 40 kilometers from the port. We also have a high-speed train line on our railway connection. We have a connection to Ankara-İzmir high speed train line. We will also have a connection to the Istanbul-Izmir highway. We are 40 kilometers away from Kemalpaşa Logistics City. After 1990, when Opel arrived in our district, Torbali became an industrialization city. We hosted Mr. Cornuaille in our Chamber of Commerce today and we thank them for starting their activities again in Torbalı. ”
Olivier Cornuaille thanked Torbalı Chamber of Commerce President Olgun for the importance they attached to investment and stated that they started working to turn Opel's Torbali factory into PSA Group's strategic spare parts distribution center in Europe.
Cornuaille said, “The PSA group believes in the Turkish economy and market. We will continue our investments and growth together with automobile brands such as Peugeot, Citroen, Opel and DS. We confirm that we are behind this point of view with our spare parts distribution center project that we plan to realize in the Torbali factory of Opel. We love this region and we did good work together, and it will be one of the important centers of the Torbali PSA Group in the new period. ”
