Land Rover's off-road vehicle Defender introduced the world at the Frankfurt Motor Show in Germany with its new generation.
The new Land Rover Defender, which has two different options, 90 and 110, has an aluminum monocoque body, unlike its predecessor. Defender 90 can offer a seating capacity of up to 6 people, while 110 offers an interior layout with a 5 + 2 seating arrangement. The Defender 110 offers a 75, 2 or 380 + 5 seating arrangement with a load area of up to one thousand 6 liters behind the second row of seats, and expanding up to 5 thousand 2 liters when the second row is folded. It is stated that Defender, which is described as the most rigid body model Land Land has ever produced, is also three times harder than traditional body-on-frame designs. Although the car introduced at the fair was a five-door 110 with long axle spacing (Defender shows the axle pitch in inches), the short version called 90 was also shown. This version will be released at the end of the year, as well as commercially produced versions. Land Rover explains that it is working on an even longer model called 130. This model mentions eight seat seating capacity.
The new Defender will have 90,110 and 130 models. The UK's selling price of the 90 version of the car will be 40 thousand pounds.
Built on the modified and improved D5x infrastructure of Discovery 7, the car will have a choice of 2 liter diesel and gasoline, 3 liter gasoline mild-hybrid engines.
Land Rover's new car will be produced at the brand's factory in Slovakia. Defender 90 4583 has a length of mm, width of 1996 mm and height of 1974 mm. Furthermore, the wheelbase is 2587 mm long. The previous generation was 3894 mm long, 1476 mm wide and 2079 mm high.
The new Defender will have 5 different hardware options: S, SE, HSE, First Edition and Defender X. With its four different Accessory Bundles, the new Defender will be able to customize it with more options than ever before on any Land Rover model. Each of the Explorer, Adventure, Country and Urban packages will allow Defender users to create the most suitable Defender for their world. First Edition models with unique features will be available during the first year of production.
Defender 110 offers the 1.075, 2.380 or 5 + 6 seating arrangement with a load area of up to 5 liters behind the second row seats and expanding to 2 liters when the second row is folded. The durable rubber-coated floor prevents dirt from lifelong adventures and provides a cleaner environment for its users.
