İZBAN Commuter System İZBAN Map and İZBAN Stations

İZBAN, If you have chosen the name in some sources, is Turkey's third largest city commuter rail system that services in Izmir. The project was implemented in partnership with Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and TCDD. There are forty stations on the 136 kilometer line between Aliağa and Selçuk districts. İZBAN History

A protocol was signed between the parties at 14 March 2011 in order to extend İZBAN from Cumaovası to Tepeköy in the south and 7 was established in October 2011. Route

İZBAN, which serves on the 136-kilometer line between Aliağa and Selçuk, was built on the Izmir-Aydın Railway, which was put into service in 1856 and the first railway line in Anatolia, and the Izmir-Kasaba (Turgutlu) Railway lines, which entered service in 1863. Aliağa-Menemen is defined as the north, Menemen-Cumaovası as the center, and the between Cumaovası-Selçuk as the south axis. Services

The system serves every day of the week from the first train departing from Aliağa and Tepeköy stations in the morning to the last train departing at 5.37 at night. There are ten flights a day between Tepeköy and Selçuk. Cumaovasi, Menemen and Tepekoy stations are transfer centers between the axles. The flights between Cumaovası-Menemen are arranged in 23.55 minute intervals until 22.10 and then in 10 minute intervals. Non-stop flights between Cumaovası-Aliağa and Menemen-Tepeköy stations take place every 20 minutes. More than 20 passengers are transported daily between Aliağa and Tepeköy. From Halkapınar and Hilal stations to İzmir subway; Buses can be transferred from Alsancak, Biçerova, Cumaovası, Çiğli, Egekent, Esbaş, Halkapınar, Hatundere, Kemer, Mavişehir, Menemen, Salhane, Sarnic, District Garage, Sirinyer, Turan and Ulukent stations. İZBAN Trains

Thirty-three EMU train tenders held at 2008 in March were won by the Spanish CAF. İZBAN train sets consist of three wagons, 2.250 person capacity and maximum 140 mileage per hour. The train sets are 70 meters in length, 2,95 meters in width and 3,85 meters in height. Since the flights are made in double or triple sets, the length of the trains is at least 140 and at most 210 meters. It is announced that E32000 train sets with ten wagons for Marmaray will be used in İZBAN as of August 2017.
